If you are using a version that is older than version 4.0, please follow this instruction to upgrade your component and plugins.
This section presents a guide to setup the component and plugins.
If you are an Access Control user, please read sections 1. and 2.; if you are a Membership Control user, please the entire article.
1. Installation of the Component
Installing OSE Membership Control or Access Control Component (OSE MSC hereafter)
Installing the component:
- For Membership Control users: go to your Joomla Backend --> Extensions --> Install / Uninstall --> Browse --> Select the file "Membership Control\com_osemsc4_ddmmyy.zip" (dd/mm/yy represents date/month/year respectively).
- For Access Control users: go to your Joomla Backend --> Extensions --> Install / Uninstall --> Browse --> Select the file "Access Control\com_oseacl_ddmmyy.zip" (dd/mm/yy represents date/month/year respectively).
After clicking "Upload File & Install", follow the wizard which is shown below to complete the installation. Please note: if some warnings display regarding folder permissions which could cause an improper installation, please temporarily change the folder permission to "777" via the control panel or FTP, and then complete the installation process. Please remember to change the folder permissions back to 755, and the file permissions back to 644.
2. Configuring the plugins (for both Membership Control and Access Control users)
- Go to your Joomla Backend --> Extensions -->Plugin Manager --> Content - Open Source Excellence MSC, change the parameters according the screenshot:
- For Membership Control Users Only Go to your Joomla Backend --> Extensions -->Plugin Manager, Enable the "Account Expiration Check Plugin".
- Go to your Joomla Backend --> Extensions -->Plugin Manager, Enable the "User - Open Source Excellence".
- Parameters:
- The Redirect URL: This function will redirect non-member users (normal registered users) to a specific page after they login.
- Welcome Message: Registration: Welcome Message when a user register as a normal registered user from the frontend.
- Welcome Message: Membership: Welcome Message when a user has successfully paid for the membership.
- Cancellation Message: Message for the membership cancellation
- IP Control: Once the IP control is turned on, the user can login to the website with the the IP address that is recorded in the system.
- Notices to Users in the Registration Form: This message will be shown in the OSE MSC registration form in the fronend.
3. Add your Paypal and Google Checkout accounts (for Membership Control users only)
- Go to your Joomla Backend --> Components --> Open Source OSE --> Parameters on your top right corner. Please enter your Paypal email account if you would like to use Paypal as your payment method. If you would like to use Google Checkout, please enter your Google Checkout Merchant ID and Google Checkout Merchant Key.
